Hot spots for New Year’s Eve in Mexico
We’ve all heard about the greatest places in the world where to spend New Years Eve: Shanghai, Las Vegas or Paris just to name a few, but in Mexico it’s a whole other story, and for someone visiting from another country it might a bit difficult to put a finger on the top places. That’s why we’re here, we’re your travel friends in Mexico, keep reading so you don’t a miss a valuable tip from a local.
The first place we recommend is San Miguel de Allende, although a lot of people might find this town like a quiet place, whenever there’s something to celebrate San Miguel finds its way through the most party monster cities and shines! And fortunately, New Year is one of those celebrations and the best part about it is that it’s merely mexican, different from celebrations you can find in very touristy places at this time of the year. Don’t get me wrong, of course there’ll be tourists there, i don’t want you to imagine a ghost town, just the more experienced travelers.
In San Miguel you’ll see the fireworks in the beautiful colonial city, and you have plenty of options like the Glow Party in Luna Bar with a live DJ, delicious tapas and a neon party theme, The Masquerade Party in the Rosewood hotel, or a fancy special dinner in the restaurant inside the hotel, 1826. If you’re looking for something less fancy but equal the fun, go to La Azotea or Atrio both great terraces with amazing views to look at the fireworks.
The next place we recommend is Los Cabos, you can spend it at the The Cape hotel, in the rooftop to be exact, enjoying the views of El Arco and dancing to the beats of Polo & Pan, Capri and Chad Hugo while having a cocktail waiting for the ball to drop.
And the last but not least place we advise you to go during New Year’s Eve is Punta de Mita, one of Kim Kardashian’s top places to visit (whenever, actually), a beautiful beach in the Nayarit Riviera with great hotels, food and of course, views. We recommend you staying at the St. Regis, the Four Seasons or the W Punta Mita, and enjoy their New Year’s Eve dinners and events.
