Tulum: you’ll never want to leave
Have you ever seen a beach so beautiful that you dream about it? Well that basically happened to me with Tulum, I still remember the first time I went there with my boyfriend and I was basically living the dream and was amazed 24/7, but a lot of people wonder what to do during the day or if there’s anything to do when the sun is up, besides obviously being on the beach. That’s why I’ll guide you through my favorite day activities in Tulum. Although, if you’re more into the night scene you can read our blog Nightlife in Tulum.
This mystical place is great for anything you would think of doing at a beach or at any trip, but in a dreamy place, for example, since it’s a mayan beach there are ruins in the city, so you have a very impressive and full of history archaeological site. If you want to know more about the history of Tulum, go to Before Tulum was named Tulum.
Let’s jump in the best recommendations you’ll get for daily activities:
Waking up early in Tulum has its benefits, for example, having breakfast at The Real Coconut, inside the boutique hotel Sanara, where you will find the most healthy, real and delicious food in town, besides you have the beautiful views and the sand on your feet. The hotel offers yoga classes so if you get up early you’ll get even luckier, a nice shavasana to nourish yourself after with the macho pancakes or the delicious toast spreads with blueberry chia jam. The menu in The Real Coconut is gluten, dairy, grain and refined sugar free and they have a lot of vegan options, so you’re getting the best of the best!
2.- Work out!
One of the most fun places to do it is at the Jungle Gym, you get to enjoy the beach, the jungle and work out and the same time, and this place kind of reminds me of the Flintstones! All of the gym equipment is made out of wood and other materials not usually seen at this kind of establishments, I personally think this is really fun and extra special for this one of a kind gym. After your workout you can go straight into the water!
3.- Visit a Shaman
Experience the original and unique pre hispanic ritual done with a real shaman, the most interesting thing about visiting a shaman here is that they are actually mayans, that’s why this is an authentic experience in Tulum and an obligation!
4.- Take a boat trip
A catamaran that will take you to other beaches, islands so you can enjoy the breeze on your face, and sometimes you just want to get away or a vacation from your vacation! You can get off the catamaran, visit other places, or just stay in it, have a drink and have some kind of snack or lunch, depending on how the sea behaves that day.
5.- Try a water activity
Paddle board, paddle yoga, snorkel or even scuba dive for the most adventurers, you’ll enjoy this like never before, the water clarity makes this more beautiful and fun than it already is. I personally believe this activity is for anyone who likes having fun, you don’t have to be a pro at it!
Tulum is one of the greatest beaches in Mexico, it’s a must trip to do with your partner, friends or family. Although if you choose the latter I don’t recommend taking children, most of the activities and hotels are for adults only, so you don’t want them to have a bad time or be uncomfortable, there a lot other options for going with kids, like Puerto Vallarta or Puerto Escondido.
